Kitchen ... the heart of Sanitariums beginnings
In March 1911, Sanitarium opened one of its national cafe and health food shops at 186 Edward Street, Brisbane with twenty-one paying customers!
Laura Lee, a pioneer in the Australian health food industry, was quick to join the Sanitarium caf team and enjoyed sharing with customers her knowledge and passion for health, nutrition and wholesome food gained during her training with Ellen G White, founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Laura trained the cafes first chef Miss Sarah Greer and her staff in how to prepare and serve delicious foods for busy city workers.
Today, Kitchen returns us to the heart of Sanitariums passion for wholesome, delicious food enjoy!
