Kitchen Sanitarium Closing February 24th
Sanitarium has operated the Kitchen Sanitarium café at 145 Eagle St Brisbane as a pilot program over the last eight years. After assessing the results of this pilot program and the potential replicability of the concept, a decision has been made that the operation will close on February 24th. The decision not to move forward with this venture is part of a larger shift in business focus and efforts towards growing our direct consumer engagement, including Sanitarium's digital and social media engagement program. This broader program also includes the growth in Vitality Works, our corporate health and wellness business, which is already building deeper direct relationships with individuals right across Australia and New Zealand.

Kitchen ... the heart of Sanitariums beginnings
In March 1911, Sanitarium opened one of its national cafe and health food shops at 186 Edward Street, Brisbane with twenty-one paying customers!
Laura Lee, a pioneer in the Australian health food industry, was quick to join the Sanitarium caf team and enjoyed sharing with customers her knowledge and passion for health, nutrition and wholesome food gained during her training with Ellen G White, founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Laura trained the cafes first chef Miss Sarah Greer and her staff in how to prepare and serve delicious foods for busy city workers.
Today, Kitchen returns us to the heart of Sanitariums passion for wholesome, delicious food enjoy!
